July 18th was the horror day for the fire brigade in the Amstetten section: After flooding in a storm, the brigades had to deploy 400 missions on this day alone. Of course, that was not all: 5,762 missions had to be dealt with in the past year 2021, including several major fires and many traffic accidents. The commitment of the fire brigades in the Amstetten district is reflected in 319,075 hours of service, although the number is not yet final because some balances have to be submitted later. District fire brigade commander Rudolf Katzengruber is especially very satisfied with the international deployment of his disaster relief workers, who fought forest fires in August in North Macedonia and in autumn in the Rax area in Hirschwang. Katzengruber also felt the corona crisis last year as a major obstacle in the fire service. Because of the pandemic, many exercises could not take place or only on a small scale. The Florianis’ diligence in training remained unbroken: The statistics show 46,149 hours of practice, plus a further 17,259 hours of course participation.
There were no changes in the election of the new management team in February of the previous year. Katzengruber (FF Euratsfeld) was confirmed as head of the administrative service as well as deputy Josef Fuchsberger (FF Ernsthofen), Florian Kammerhuber (FF Wolfsbach) and his deputy Melanie Katzengruber (FF Euratsfeld). The highlight was the nationwide Florianimarsch in St. Valentin.
