Air taxi took off at the Olympic Games

The Baden-based air taxi manufacturer Volocopter completed a test flight near the equestrian and pentathlon venues on Thursday during the Olympic Games. The validation phase for the regular operation of electric flights in the city was started from a specially opened airfield in Saint-Cyr-l’Ecole near Paris.

The new aircraft with multiple rotors on the roof that take off and land vertically are intended to revolutionize aviation and provide an alternative to road traffic, especially in densely populated cities. Company boss Dirk Hoke spoke yesterday of an important milestone.
