In Argentina’s current economic context, small and medium-sized businesses are facing unprecedented challenges. However, amidst the uncertainty, new opportunities emerge three fundamental pillars which are allowing many of them not only to survive, but also to strengthen their position in the market: clarity, wisdom and strength.

The clarity It is the first step towards making sound strategic decisions. As the driving force of the economy, SMEs have learned to navigate in an environment where the rules of the game are clearly defined by the Government. Whether we like it or not, we have clarity about what is expected and what policies are in place. This provides us with a stable framework from which we can plan and act. We know what rules we are playing by, and this transparency, although sometimes uncomfortable, is an advantage that allows us to adjust our strategies with full knowledge of the environment.

The wisdom It is the most valuable resource we have accumulated. In times of crisis, efficiency becomes a necessity, not only to compete with other local companies, but also with those that export products to the Argentine market. As an agro-industrial food SME, we made the decision to base our strategy on alliances with those entrepreneurs who knew how to build iconic brands or businesses in the country. This collective wisdom, built on years of experience, allows us to identify opportunities and dangers with a precision that only time can provide. It is not just about surviving; it is about thriving, and to do so it is essential to understand where our capabilities can be complemented by others, and where our strengths can be the added value that others need.

Finally, the strength This is what keeps us firm in our conviction that Argentina has a better future. Despite the obstacles posed by successive governments, we continue to bet on this country. We firmly believe that Argentina can and should be a global leader in food production and export. The strength of SMEs lies in their ability to adapt, to join in strategic alliances and to continue generating quality employment, even in the most difficult times. Together we are stronger than apart, and this union gives us the resilience necessary to face current and future challenges.

We are sure that if we apply these three concepts, we will be in a much better place than if we do not apply them. Simple concepts, but practical, easy and that give us an immediate result.
