The City of Buenos Aires has a new edition of Coffee Dayan event that brings together lovers of this drink for 24 years. For this reason, this Saturday, more than 50 coffees in different Buenos Aires neighborhoods they will offer one cup only for $1,000inviting neighbors and tourists to be part of this day.

This initiative, promoted by the AHRCC Chamber of Cafes and Bars next to Buenos Aires Gastronomic Capitalseeks promote coffee consumption in traditional places that have always been a symbol of the culture and identity of the city, distinguished among other things by its gastronomy.

Coffee Day was established by the Buenos Aires Legislature in 2000through the Law No. 511in commemoration of the opening of the emblematic Cafe Tortoni on October 26, 1858. Since then, this day pays tribute to all the notable cafes, bars, billiards and confectioneries of CABA.

The tribute to these places that are part of the Buenos Aires cultural heritageis also encouraged for active tourism, internal or external, and for keep history alive of them. In fact, many Buenos Aires citizens take advantage of this day to see places of this type that they had never visited.

It is that, with the presence in 25 neighborhoodsthese cafes offer a unique experience that was enjoyed by both the city’s inhabitants and its visitors for decades.

For that very reason, Francisco Mirandapresident of the AHRCC Chamber of Cafes and Bars, said: “It is a day to highlight the role of the establishments that, year after year, join forces to strengthen our activity. We celebrate the importance of being protagonists and promoting coffee culture.”

As part of the support for this day, The AHRCC provides one kilo of coffee to each of the participating locations. Additionally, a interactive map which allows those who wish to join to quickly locate the participating cafes and plan their route.

“Beyond the ups and downs, every year We maintain the commitment to celebrate and strengthen Buenos Aires Coffee Day. It is a seal that identifies our city,” Miranda concluded.

The investigation included 8,451 older adults, mostly women (60%) and white (97%) with some cognitive impairmentdata available through the UK Biobank.
