Its story begins in 2004 in the La Lucila neighborhood, Vicente López, as a joint vision of the chef couple Verónica Morello and Charly Forbes, who already had notable culinary training both nationally and internationally. Then, in 2012, they moved to the Martínez neighborhood, San Isidro, where today they continue to stand out for their French charm and for providing a unique culinary experience.
L’Atelier Bistró has a premises that displays a discreet façade with lanterns that frame the name of the place next to the traditional tableau written in chalk. Upon entering, you glimpse a classic style design that is mainly based on wooden elements, white tones and black and white photographs. At the back are a sturdy wooden staircase and the kitchen where they prepare the dishes, which are served on ceramic tableware custom designed by chef Verónica.
For 20 years, L’Atelier Bistro’s elegant menu has been carefully prepared with the purpose of fusing cultures and flavors under the influence of the French style that characterizes the place. This gastronomic experience stands out for offering dishes that combine classic recipes with creations that adapt to the ingredients available so that diners can enjoy fresh flavors.
What to order
The proposal begins with a selection of appetizers, among them the classic foie de vollaille pâté with greens and gingerbread, a cheese plate (brie, camembert, morbier and blue cheese), crispy sweetbreads with mashed potatoes and zucchini, kale and sweet chilli of kumquats, squid with smoked paprika and golden potatoes, white fish tartare on cold carrot and ginger soup, and a plate with three fresh oysters.

For the main dish, the menu offers classics such as duck confit or magret with braised fennel, pears and apples with orange and turmeric sauce, and also alternatives such as the catch of the day with aduki beans, asparagus, caper sauce and lemon powder. of chorizo, beef tenderloin with potato aligot, broccoli and pepper and thyme sauce, and sautéed prawns with wild rice, vegetables and sweet chilli.
The menu ends with French desserts and options that combine local flavors, such as the classic creme brulée with crunchy sablé dough, nougat glacé with red fruit and chocolate sauce, dulce de leche volcano with chocolate sauce and hazelnut praline, and creamy of chocolate with 70% cocoa accompanied by hazelnut and kumquat biscotti.
To accompany these dishes, they have a wide selection of wines from their extensive wine cellar, made up of fresh and lively sparkling wines, to robust and complex reds.
Special proposal to celebrate 20 years
Throughout this year, to commemorate its twentieth anniversary, L’Atelier Bistro has a special five-course tasting menu available on its menu. The first course includes oyster, pear and vinegar and is accompanied by a glass of Turbio Sauvignon blanc; the second is a foie pâté with gingerbread and tomato chutney and is served with Abito rosé; The third step consists of duck magret with fennel, apples and orange sauce with turmeric, and a glass of Saint Felicien Malbec; the fourth is a tasting of brie, camembert, morbier and blue cheeses, which is accompanied with Trapiche Lateral GSM; and the fifth and last step is a nougat glacé with red fruit sauce along with an Alta Vista Extra Brut.
