At 93 years old, Warren Buffett continues to head his financial and industrial conglomerate, Berkshire Hathaway, through which you channel your investments in variable income. These have been the main movements it has made in the first quarter of 2024, according to the latest published data.
In the sales chapter, Buffett has reduced his stake in Apple by 6%after selling more than 116 million shares of the iPhone maker.
And although the technology giant continues to be his main position, since it represents about 41% of his portfolio, the ‘oracle of Omaha’ has decided to level the composition of his investments and reduce his exposure to the firm led by Steve Jobs.
Another company where it has also reduced its historical presence is in the Chevron oil company, since it has sold more than 3 million shares and has reduced its stake by 2.5%.
At the same time, Buffett continues to increase his presence in another American oil company, since he has bought more than 4 million shares of Occidental Petroleuma company in which Berkshire Hathaway is the largest shareholder.
In this sense, Chevron remains the fifth most important value in the holding company’s portfolio, with a weighting of 5.8%, although the weight in Occidental’s portfolio (the sixth most important value) continues to grow and now exceeds 4.8%.
Continuing with the sales, Buffett has liquidated his entire stake in HPQ, the technology company that was spun off from HP, after selling more than 22 million shares. Likewise, he has sold more than $55 million to Paramount Global, reducing his stake by 88%.
