Chainsaw plan reaches the Casa Propia program and the Government seeks to incorporate private financing

Government reformed the regulations of the “Own Home Program – Build Future” in order to be able to incorporate the participation of third parties with financial assistance for the completion of the works. This responds to the fact that the relentless cuts carried out by the Government reached the initiatives that seek to promote and finance housing solutions for those households with unsatisfied basic needs and vulnerable groups.

This is how the Resolution 361/2024, of the Ministry of Economywhich was published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette when it maintains that “due to limitations of budget availability, within the framework of the policy of cleaning up public accounts in force, there are difficulties in concluding the works of the agreements signed in the framework of the aforementioned Program”.

And he states that, in order to meet the objectives of the aforementioned program It is necessary to promote alternatives for financial assistance and regulatory tools that facilitate the concretion of the agreements signed and/or that may eventually be signed, “allowing the modification of current agreements by incorporating into them by common agreement, the participation of third parties interested in compliance with the agreement assuming those wholly or partially the financial assistance necessary for the completion of the works”.

Consequently, the Government approved a new regulation and an Execution Manual of the National Housing Construction Program called “OWN HOUSE PROGRAM – BUILD FUTURE”which contemplate the intervention of third parties in these projects that are financed.

This is a consequence of the Executive’s decision to continue cutting spending at any cost, even adjusting programs that aim to improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable sectors, retirements and the delivery of food to soup kitchens.
