Grünberg landlord Franz Pernkopf was able to welcome vintner personalities to the 4.0 edition, who not only enjoy a great reputation among wine lovers because of their wine products, but who have all helped Austrian wine to gain a high reputation through their work.
The charming winemaker Heidi Schröck, who traveled from Rust am Neusiedlersee to the Traunsee, was there. Together with her twin sons, she produces the tasty white wines such as the Furmint served with the menu. Their internationally acclaimed sweet wines such as Beerenauslese and Ruster outbreak DAC delighted the guests, especially with the tasty dessert and cheese buffet.
Karl Lagler and his wife came to Lake Traun from Spitz in the Wachau. His way from a grape supplier to a more than recognized top winemaker was brought closer to the enthusiastic audience together with his interview partner Willi Klinger. His Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Ried Hinter der Burg and the brilliant Riesling Smaragd from Riede Steinpoarz were served as a starter (a tasty pumpkin terrine with tartar from organic smoked duck breast).
Ludwig Neumayer from the Traisental, on the other hand, convinced those present with wit and charm and his philosophy of winemaking. His Grüner Veltliner “Der Wein vom Stein” and, above all, the Riesling from the Rothenbart vineyard were convincing as a final sip to the delicious chive foam soup.
The Göttlesbrunn winemaker Franz Netzl is considered a relaxed companion of his vines, grapes and his wines. Interview partner Philipp Braun elicited his clear commitment to the main grape variety of the company and the Carnuntum region, the Blauer Zweigelt. His pure Ried Haidacker and the Cuvée Ried Bärnreiser went perfectly with the perfectly cooked fillet of local young cattle.
The Golser top winemaker Hans “John” Nittnaus left several big footprints in the development of Austrian wine. Whether Leithaberg terroir wines or the internationally renowned Pannobile brand, Hans Nittnaus can be considered the father of these renowned wines. His Chardonnay from Leithaberg (Ried Joiser Berschmallister) easily keeps up with the international greats from Burgundy. The red flagship wines Blaufränkisch Lange Ohn and the Cuvée Comondor delighted all the guests present. And as Franz Pernkopf remarked at the finale: The 5th edition of this legendary evening with the wine legends of our country should definitely be targeted.
