Beetlejuice Beetlejuice performed well at the box office, where it opened with $111 million in the United States, which was the second-highest September debut in history. In total, it grossed more than $450 million at the global box office.

After 36 years, the return of the 1988 Halloween fan favorite brought back the vengefully hilarious ghost, Beetlejuice, played by Michael Keaton; the gothic queen, Lydia Deetz, played by Winona Ryder; and Catherine O’Hara as Lydia’s stepmother, Delia Deetz.
The sequel also introduced new faces such as Jenna Ortegawho plays Astrid, the third generation of Deetz women; Monica Bellucciwho plays Beetlejuice’s ex-wife Delores; Willem Dafoe as the charmingly helpless Wolf Jackson; Arthur Conti as the boy next door, Jeremy Frazie; and an appearance of Danny Devitoamong many others.
The premise of the new film follows the three Deetz women as they return to the fictional town of Winter River, Connecticut. There, Lydia’s teenage daughter Astrid (Ortega) accidentally opens a portal to the afterlife, forcing Lydia to follow her and come face to face with her past, i.e. Beetlejuice.
Reviews were mostly positive for Beetlejuice Beetlejuicepraising it as a nostalgic horror romp that stayed true to the acclaimed director’s signature style, with goofy, grotesque creatures filling the screen, optical illusion set designs, a killer soundtrack, and, of course, a stop-animation segment. -motion.
