Britain and the Netherlands have forged a fighter jet alliance for Ukraine. What that means exactly and when which machines will be delivered is still open. Military experts like Thomas Jäger are already thinking beyond the end of the war.
No F-16 has yet taken off from Ukrainian soil, and it may be a while before that happens. Even though Great Britain and the Netherlands have now announced the launch of a fighter jet alliance. “We are working on a coalition for fighter jets – training, aircraft, results,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. French head of state Emmanuel Macron said his country is involved in pilot training but will not deliver any aircraft.
