After the scandal with Donald Trump, the Ukrainian president hopes for the backing of European allies. They meet on Sunday. One wants to speak to him before.
British Prime Minister Keir Strandmer wants to receive Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj in the seat of government, 10 downing street. This was confirmed by the British head of government after the Ukrainian had arrived in Great Britain by plane from the United States.
Strander invited to a Ukraine summit in London on Sunday. In addition to Selenskyj, European heads of state and government are also expected, the EU leadership and NATO boss Mark Rutte.
Donald Trump: “You risk a third World War II”
There had been an unprecedented scandal between Selenskyj and US President Donald Trump before in the White House in front of running cameras.
Trump had loudly covered the Ukrainian president with violent allegations in front of running cameras. “They jeopardize the lives of millions of people. You risk a third World War II”he said to the Ukrainian. Trump asked Selenskyj to be grateful and asked him to change his attitude. He kept interrupting it while the Ukrainian president tried to reply. In places, violent verbal battles developed.
The US President also threatened to let Ukraine down in the fight against Russia if there was no agreement with Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin. “You will either make a deal or we’re out”so Trump in the White House. “And when we’re out, you have to fight it off. I don’t think that will be pleasant.”
“The problem is that I have enabled you to be a hard guy”said Trump about Selenskyj. “I don’t think they would be such a hard guy without the United States.”
Donald Trump calls for gratitude
“If you didn’t have our military equipment, the war would have ended after two weeks”said Trump, among other things, with a view to the war of attack against Ukraine, which started from Russia in 2022. “You have to be grateful”according to the Republican.
The US President then wrote: “Today we had a very important meeting in the White House. We have learned a lot that could never be understood without conversations by such pressure and fire. It is astonishing what emotions come to light, and I have come to the conclusion that President Selenskyj is not ready for peace when America is involved because he believes that our participation gives him a great advantage in the negotiations. I don’t want an advantage, I want peace. He treated the United States of America disrespectfully in its esteemed Oval Office. He can come back if he is ready for peace.”
From a disturbing joke to a big bang

At first the meeting of the heads of state was still the same as you have seen it do: Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj arrives at the White House in Washington in the morning, is greeted by US President Donald Trump with a handshake

Keir Strandmer tries as a bridge builder
Strander, who had a emphasized harmonious meeting with Trump in Washington just one day before Selenskyj, tries to position himself as a transatlantic bridge builder. Unlike many European heads of state and government, he did not post public solidarity with the Ukrainian on social media. Instead, he reached the listener and had talks with Trump and the Ukrainian president.
Strander keeps his unshakable support for Ukraine and does everything he can to find a way to a permanent peace based on sovereignty and security for Ukraine, said a downening street spokesman.
Selenskyj: Public confrontation not good for both sides
After the meeting was terminated, Selenskyj first expressed grateful. “Thank you America, thanks for the support, thanks for this visit, thank you potus, congress and the American people”the Ukrainian president said on the X platform. Potus is the abbreviation for President of the United States. “Ukraine simply needs a permanent peace, and that’s exactly what we are working on”so Selenskyj.
Thank you america, Thank you for your support, thanks you for this visit. Thank you @PotusCongress, and the American People.

The simplest way to reliable protection is a NATO accession of Ukraine, said Selenskyj. But that is not an option for all partners. So he said: “Okay, nobody urges it.” Then security guarantees would have to be created in other ways – and the support of the Europeans by the United States is needed.
The following day of the meeting with Trump, Selenskyj again thanked the USA, including its president, for the support made so far.
We are very grateful to the united states for all the support. I’m Thanks to President Trump, Congress for their Bipartisan Support, and American People. Ukrainian have always appreciated this support, Especialy During Thesis Three Years of Full-Scale Invasion. pic.twitter.com/z9flwjf101

Raw material agreements not signed
The signing of a raw material agreement between the United States and Ukraine did not occur for Friday. Selenskyj and Trump should actually sign the deal for the joint use of mineral resources in Ukraine at the meeting in Washington.
According to Ukrainian information, it was planned that the United States and Ukraine will in future promote raw materials in the Ukrainian field. Trump sees the agreement for military aid achieved by Washington. He had turned his predecessor Joe Biden’s Ukraine policy upside down shortly after taking office by taking up talks with the Russian President Vladimir Putin without consulting Ukraine or the transatlantic partners.
