In the talks about the formation of a federal government, things get tough, but in between fresh air is also caught. The scenes are reminiscent of an earlier round of negotiations.
There must also be breaks on long negotiation days, which also applies in the explorations for a new coalition in Berlin. During the consultations in the Bundestag’s Jakob-Kaiser house, participants from the Union and SPD came out in between on a terrace on the fifth floor of the office building directly on the Spree and-also in a mixed black and red formation-treated themselves to a little Berlin spring sun.
The pictures resembled scenes in the explorations for a Jamaica coalition that took place in autumn 2017 only a few steps away in the house of the German Parliamentary Society. At that time, negotiators from the CDU, CSU, Greens and FDP also came out again and again on a balcony with a view of the Spree.
The attempt by Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) to forge a black and yellow-green coalition later failed later-but not directly on the Spree, but somewhat away in the Baden-Württemberg state representative.
