In the first part of the second day of training, Nadia Podoroska, Julia Riera, Martina Capurro Taborda and Guillermina Naya, the players chosen by Mercedes Paz for this series, performed specific singles tasks. While in the second shift, the work focused on doubles and the captain tried different oppositions.
After practice, Paz assured that the Argentine National Team will fight. “I have a lot of faith, I know it is a very tough game, but I see the girls very hungry. They are the favorites, but we come to give them competition,” she stated. On the other hand, regarding the track chosen by Slovakia, with a speed of 2 out of 5 on the ITF scale, Paz specified: “The surface is rather slow, I thought it was going to be faster; The balls are good and adapt to the girls’ game. The truth is that we finished both days playing very well. I think the surface suits us for our type of game.”
