Franco Colapinto had a great race in Austria and finished second in Formula 2

The Argentine finished eleventh at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. His next goals include the British GP and six other races at different points.

The Argentine Formula 2 driver, Franco Colapinto, He had a great performance in Austria and took second place. With seven races remaining, he is 40 points behind the championship leader, Estonian Paul Aron.

The Argentine was able to recover from the unfortunate episode he experienced in the Sprint Race, in which it seemed that he was going to finish fifth but he spun andfinished eleventh at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg.

In the main race, Colapinto started in fourth position and had a very good strategy with his team: extending the pit stop. This allowed him to be the leader for more than 20 laps, until he finally had to change his tires.

This way, Colapinto was the second to cross the checkered flag, adding his second consecutive podium and was among the top five in the championship.

After the race, the Pilar native commented: “I wanted to fight for the race and we were able to finish with another consecutive podium. We decided to follow this strategy because we knew we would have a good pace. I’m happy because good things are coming and I hope we continue like this at Silverstone.”

Colapinto’s next challenge will be the British GP, for the eighth date of the Formula 2 calendar. After that race, there will be another six before the end of the championship: Budapest, Spa, Monza, Baku, Lusail and Abu Dhabi.

The Argentine driver has been obtaining very good results in his debut season in the category. He already achieved his first victory by winning the Sprint Race in Ímola and last weekend he had achieved another podium in the Barcelona GP.

Colapinto wants to become the first Argentine to race in Formula 1 since Gastón Mazzacane did so between 2000 and 2001.
