Stadlober continues to make up ground before the final

The ÖSV cross-country skier took sixth place yesterday in the classic mass start over ten kilometers and thus improved to eighth place in the overall standings.

On the fifth stage of the racing series, the daughter of the ÖSV president stayed in a top group of six for a long time and only fell a little behind in the final phase. In the end she was only 14.3 seconds behind winner Natalja Neprjajewa, who also extended her overall lead. Stadlober is 1:59 minutes behind her training partner, with whom she worked in the group around German coach Markus Cramer in the summer.

The final challenge today is the “Final Climb” on Alpe Cermis. Skating up a steep ski slope, the Salzburg native feels completely in her element. “I will fight to the last meter,” says Stadlober.

In the men’s category, the Norwegian Johannes Hösflot Kläbo gave another impressive performance. With his 46th World Cup success he drew level with compatriot and record holder Björn Dählie and leads a full two minutes ahead of Alexander Bolschunow before the final.
