Copa America: Canada and Venezuela define Argentina’s rival in the semi-finals

In Arlington, the Americans won 1-0 with a goal from Shaffelburg. The winner will face the National Team on Tuesday in New Jersey.


Defenders Nahuel Ferraresi and Miguel Navarro and midfielder Cristian Cásseres Jr return to the starting eleven of Venezuela to face this Friday Canada in the quarter-finals of the America Cup of the United States 2024, while the North American team repeats its lineup.

Ferraresi, Navarro and Cásseres Jr. were looked after by the Vinotinto coach, the Argentine Fernando ‘Bocha’ Batista, in the previous match, a 3-0 victory against Jamaica in the closing match of Group B.

Canada coach Jesse Marsch, meanwhile, has retained the same lineup he used in the 0-0 draw that sealed Canada’s passage in the final matchday of Group A. Jonathan David and Cyle Larin lead his attack.
