On the other hand, and within the framework of the sectoral fight against travel applications, the owners and drivers of taxis asked the Chief of Staff for a meeting of all business and union entities with the Minister of Deregulation, Federico Sturzeneggerto analyze the possibility of starting to work in a National Remises Law.

It is estimated that today they work irregularly, outside the system, between 500,000 and 600,000 units throughout the country. “Incorporating these workers into the activity would directly mean a decrease in unemployment by two points,” said a spokesman for the Federation, adding: “Apart from generating better service, higher quality, professionalism, better units available throughout the country.”

But Poli also highlighted the proposal for a National Law for taxi drivers. “At this time when everything is being deregulated, it is a law to deregulate the activity”said the union leader, and assured that the next step will be to talk with Sturzenegger, the minister responsible for the area.

“We can contribute ideas from our activity, which allow us to agree on measures, so that it goes well and generates employment, so that there is legal competition,” Poli said, adding: “There is also a reason to regulate the applications, because in essence the taxi agencies and the applications are the same. When someone orders a car through an application, a taxi comes, a driver comes, takes the passenger to the destination and charges him. In other words, it has four legs, a tail and barks, it is a dog, it is nothing else,” concluded the head of the Federation.
