More than 480 children received care at the Casa Ronald Mobile Pediatric Unit

The Ronald McDonald House – an independent civil organization that supports children in situations of illness and provides support to their families – carried out a new health operation with its Mobile Pediatric Unit (UPM), in alliance with the Municipality of San Isidro and with the support of Kimberly-Clark.

The care was provided in Bajo Boulogne and lasted for 5 consecutive days, with care sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. During these days, 485 children and adolescents up to 16 years of age were able to receive free primary pediatric, dental and ophthalmologic medical care. 576 consultations were carried out in the three specialties, national vaccinations were checked and administered, where required, and 21 pairs of glasses were prescribed, which will be delivered in the coming days at no cost to the families. In the event of detection of any particular pathology, the patients were referred to the municipal health system to continue with the necessary follow-up.

In line with the Operation, the Healthy Habits Promotion Unit, another of the 11 programs that Casa Ronald develops, organized prevention workshops in the Municipal Kindergarten No. 2. There, through reading a story and various recreational activities, children – and their parents – received information on preventing domestic accidents.
