Eighth game, eighth win: Chiefs win thanks to Hopkins
The Kansas City Chiefs desperately needed a pass receiver and brought in DeAndre Hopkins. Already in the second game for the defending champions, the veteran shows what enormous value he can have.
Thanks to two touchdowns from newcomer DeAndre Hopkins, the Kansas City Chiefs remain the only undefeated team in the NFL. In his second game for the defending champions and hosts, Hopkins scored the first and last touchdown of regular time. In the 30:24 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it was only Kareem Hunt’s touchdown that decided the game, because the guests equalized to 24:24 with 27 seconds left and forced overtime.
Hunt also played a major role in the Chiefs’ eighth win of the season in the eighth game with 106 yards after runs. The man of the evening was neither he nor quarterback Patrick Mahomes nor the equally strong Travis Kelce, who was celebrated by his girlfriend Taylor Swift for 100 yards after passes – but rather Hopkins. “He showed me that he can win 1-1 duels.
