He Pope Francis has requested an investigation into whether the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip constitute a genocide against the Palestinian people.
In an excerpt from his upcoming book, Hope never disappoints, Francisco highlighted the difficulties in bringing humanitarian aid to Loop and denounced the “famine” that the Palestinian population suffers due to the lack of food and assistance.
The Pontiff mentioned that some experts consider that the situation in Loop could have the characteristics of a genocide, urging a detailed investigation to determine if it meets the technical definition of genocide according to jurists and international organizations.

“In the Middle East, the open doors of nations like Jordan and Lebanon continue to be a salvation for millions of people fleeing conflicts in the region,” he says. Francis.

Previously, he had described the attacks against Loop and Lebanon as “immoral” and “disproportionate”, and had accused the Israeli army of violating the rules of war.
Also, in previous meetings, Francis expressed concern about the suffering of both Israelis and Palestinians, using terms such as “terrorism” and “genocide.”
