Magnus Carlsen raised the world of chess in Jeans. Now he auctions the pants that caused a scandal – of course unwashed.

The income from the auction is intended to benefit the charity organization Big Brothers Big Sisters. At the end of December 2024, the conflict about the correct pants went into the chess annals as “jeans gate”. Carlsen was given a fine of $ 200 from the Fide Chess Association. Because he refused to change, he was even disqualified.
The number one in the world rankings stubbornly stubbed and ultimately prevailed: Fide loosened the regulations for the clothing on the chess board. The association was difficult to do without the best and best -known chess players in the world. Shortly after the feud, Carlsen announced a sponsorship deal with a clothing manufacturer-so the jeans slat served as a PR stunt not least.
