Jobint, the HR Tech with leading brands such as Bumeran, Zonajobs, Selecta and HiringRoom, conducted a study on the region’s labor market using data from its classified sites in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Panama and Peru. In order to compare the data from the different countries, salaries were dollarized. In the case of Argentina, the official dollar and the MEP dollar were considered to obtain a more realistic picture of the situation.
The data reflects that the highest average salary in the region is Panamanian, with 1,037 dollars per month. They are followed by the Chilean with 1,035 dollars per month, the Peruvian with 823 dollars per month and the Ecuadorian with 810 dollars per month. In last place, the Argentine to the MEP dollar with 627 per month, while to the official dollar it is 1,152 dollars per month, ranking above the salary of Panama and being first on the list.
In an analysis of salaries according to the seniority of the position, for the boss or supervisor levels, the highest average remuneration is Panamanian, with $1,440 per month. Then there are the Chilean with 1,430 dollars per month, the Peruvian with 1,403 dollars per month and the Ecuadorian with 1,313 dollars per month. Again, Argentina occupies the last position with 990 MEP dollars per month, while at the official dollar it is 1,818 dollars per month and becomes the highest in the region.
In the junior segment, the highest average salary is that of Chile with 837 dollars per month. It is followed by that of Panama with 742 dollars per month, that of Ecuador with 519 dollars per month and that of Peru with 456 dollars per month. The one from Argentina to the MEP dollar is the lowest, with 422 per month. However, at the official dollar it is in second place on the podium with 775 dollars per month.
Argentine salaries are the ones that have grown the most in the region in the last two and a half years
Although Argentine salaries in MEP dollars are the lowest in the region, the country’s salaries are also the ones that have grown the most in the last two and a half years, whether the official dollar or the MEP are taken into account. From May 2020 to December 2022, there is an increase in the required average salary of 36.2% in official dollars and 20.1% in MEP dollars.
In Panama, Ecuador, and Chile, wages remain stable, with increases of 1.2%, 0.5%, and 0.4%, respectively. In Peru, there is a 3.1% drop in the required salary in dollars due to the devaluation of the local currency.
The salary in Argentina was the one that had the highest annual increase: 23.4% in MEP dollars and 22.4% in official dollars. Thus, the desired remuneration in the country continues to grow above the salaries of other countries in the region: the annual increase in Peru is 12.5%, in Panama 1.3% and in Ecuador and Chile it was registered a decrease of 0.8% and 1.2%, respectively.

The study carried out by Jobint also considers the average salaries of junior, senior and semi-senior positions, and of boss or supervisor of three sectors of the world of work: Technology and systems, Administration and finance, and Production, supply and logistics.
In Technology and systems, the remuneration required for junior positions in descending order they are $1,098 per month in Chile, $825 per month in Panama, $494 per month in Peru, $577 per month in Ecuador, and $492 MEP in Argentina. If the official dollar in Argentina is taken into account, his required salary is 903 dollars per month.
Within the segment of senior or semi senior in descending order they are $1,450 per month in Chile, $1,182 per month in Panama, $1,005 per month in Peru, $982 per month in Ecuador, and $826 MEP in Argentina. While, at the official dollar, it is 1,516 dollars per month, the highest in the region.
In the categories of boss or supervisor the remunerations required are 3,007 to the official dollar in Argentina, 1,886 dollars per month in Chile, 1,694 dollars per month in Panama, 1,682 dollars per month in Peru, 1,638 to MEP dollars in Argentina and 1,430 dollars per month in Ecuador.
In Administration and financethe intended salaries for the junior positions in descending order they are $804 per month in Chile, $736 per month in Panama, $521 per month in Ecuador, $484 per month in Peru, and $450 MEP in Argentina. If the official dollar in Argentina is taken into account, his required salary is 825 dollars per month, the highest in the region.
Within the segment of senior or semi senior, In descending order, salaries are $1,072 per month in Panama, $1,020 per month in Chile, $841 per month in Peru, $817 per month in Ecuador, and $639 MEP in Argentina.
