Stock exchange in Frankfurt: Moderate gains on the German stock market

The Dax started the week on Monday with moderate gains. In the first quarter of an hour, the leading German index rose by 0.29 percent to 15,959.87 points on Monday. The MDax for medium-sized companies gained 0.37 percent to 27,436.93 points. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 went up 0.38 percent to 4334.19 points.

The threat of US default at the beginning of June is getting closer by the day, but investors are not yet being fooled by this horror scenario, wrote analyst Christian Henke from broker IG.

The market strategists at JPMorgan write that the relationship between opportunities and risks on the stock market is also threatening to deteriorate further for other reasons. With a view to the second half of the year, they warn of price weakness after the recovery rally since the fourth quarter of 2022.

The experts at Landesbank Helaba are also skeptical. After the Dax made no serious attempts to break out of its trading range in the past week, “the risks on the underside seem to be increasing,” says the current daily outlook.
