Over the past few months, the Government has signed agreements to open flights with several countries in the region, such as Paraguay, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Uruguayas well as Panama. At the same time, it promotes significant improvements in the sector, including the deregulation of air transport to encourage competition and the entry of new airlines, “as well as to strengthen operational safety,” according to the official text.
The details of the new regulations
The official communication maintains that with the measure, for example, countries such as Chile, Uruguay or Paraguay will be able to operate new flights with regional combinations. For example, a Chilean airline will now be able to operate Santiago – Buenos Aires – Montevideo with Airbus 321 aircraft and reciprocally for an Argentine airline.
Likewise, airlines from countries such as Brazil are authorized to offer regional flights with stopovers and could operate from Aeroparque with higher capacity flights, promoting connectivity and allowing airlines to include Aeroparque in air routes where, until now, they were unable to do so.
