After the after-corona slump in the past year, things are slightly uphill. Washing and rinsing do the development. Obvoos, herds and cooling devices are weakening.
Although many customers buy cheaper and need less fitted kitchens, the home equipment manufacturer BSH has been able to increase its sales slightly last year. Specifically, in 2024 it was 3 percent up to 15.3 billion euros. The Bosch subsidiary leaves the slump after the Corona boom behind. BSH does not give figures for profit.
CFO Thorsten Lücke spoke of a challenging environment. Among other things, BSH suffers from the break -in of real estate markets because this has decreased. In addition, a growing trend towards low price categories is observed in Europe.
This is also evident in the numbers on product groups and regions. While the sales in stoves, hobs and cooling devices sank, they grew up with small household appliances, laundry, but also dishwasher. By far the most important market Europe gave up slightly by 2 percent, China a little stronger at 4.5 percent. An increase of 3 percent in North America and above all an increase of 14 percent in the emerging markets – including Eastern Europe, Middle East, African continent, India – equalized.
Last year BSH announced the reduction of 3,500 jobs worldwide. One was in the plan, it was said. The company kept covered with the possible consequences of US tariffs. They are currently examining their effects. Basically, however, you rely on a local-for-local approach-i.e. produce in the respective markets if possible.
BSH is a European market leader for home equipment according to its own. The company’s brands include Bosch, Siemens, Neff and Gaggenau.
