A new batch of layoffs hit inside Disney especially in the famous producer of animated pixar movies. Among the people who lost their jobs were Galyn Susmana producer known for have saved the company in the late nineties.

In 1998, Susman saved one of Pixar’s most acclaimed movies: Toy Story 2. At that time, another employee mistakenly deleted all files from the animated movie. Luckily, Susman (at the time technical director) he had a copy of the film in his house because he was working remotely.
Angus McLanedirector of lightyearwas also fired among 75 employees who left Pixarreported Reuters. The production company will premiere the film on June 15 Elementary.

The layoffs were made on May 23. and are part of the plan announced by Bob Iger to delete 7,000 positions and cut US$5.5 billion in costs. This restructuring combined different film and television groups into a single unit of disneyentertainmenteliminated the division in charge of distribution.
Although Pixar’s total employee headcount is 1,200, the layoffs draw attention to being one of Disney’s most recognized brandsand, with hyper-popular movies like Toy Story or Cars. Even so, the company has suffered unsuccessful releases such as Lightyear’s, which was not released in 14 countries in the Middle East and Asia due to having an LGBT couple.
