– What is the balance of the season that, one could say, is closing with Tourism Week?
– I was just talking yesterday with a colleague from tourism that in reality for us has not yet finished. It ends with the end of this Holy Week or tourism. We are with a large flow of customers, with the hotel fully booked and the Convention Center full, and with the prospect that the Tourism Week will come in handy. It was a good season in general, where the weather was the main ally.
That is why it is very bad for others, for the tourism sector it is very good and there were many factors that influenced Argentina, such as the World Cup and the Argentina came with “another head”, despite the exchange disparity that exists.
The pandemic is still having an influence in the sense that people came to stay longer, the stays are longer and that in general closes a very good season, with some nuances motivated above all by the exchange rate.
– Is Argentine tourism still a priority or has that changed?
-That is changing, although we are the ones that make the most “noise” (I am Argentine), in reality I would tell you that at the level of visits and income it comes more from the side of Brazil, that is why we are also making the focus there. We have the charter that comes every week from Thursday to Sunday.
Today in proportionality the Brazilian public is very close to the Argentine publicbut today the Brazilian is a little more, with a notorious growth of the Uruguayan public that has a lot to do with the proposals that we have had with the closed borders at the time that made many people from Uruguay discover us and that today we visit a lot.

– What then is the outlook for Tourism Week?
– It comes in handy, at least in terms of reservations and confirmations. In addition, this year came a little later in the calendar, so it also allows us to prepare better and get out of the season a little more easily. We will be at 100% occupancyI do not have doubts.
We have the show of Lenine who is a very good Brazilian band on April 8th. We will also have Rojo Tango who is going to give us a tango show that is impressive and then our tournaments in the casino. We are going to have a very nice Tourism Week.
– As prominent protagonists of the tourism sector in Punta del Este, do you notice that there is a post-pandemic revitalization with the arrival of investors, families that come to settle, etc?
– The truth that yes. A lot. Not so much at Enjoy where we have this movement all year round, but outside, for example, at my daughter’s school, which has grown enormously in enrollment and has a classmate who has just arrived from Polandanother Australian, has Brazilians, Argentines.
Families that are settling down in Uruguay, that are investing looking for new opportunities and that obviously generates a “spill” in the city more than important because not everything is real estate. In Punta del Este there are a lot of other businesses that are being generated, cafes, restaurants that give the city a movement, more than interesting.
