With the purchase of land in the Haid Niederung, near the company Actual Fenster, decided by the municipal council, the project of the new waste material collection center is on its way. With the new building on an area of 8600 square meters, a modern and contemporary disposal option for old and problematic materials is to be created.
The new waste collection center will offer better access and exits, more and more spacious parking areas as well as parking spaces for collection containers, says Mayor Christian Partoll (FP). The city of Ansfelden spent 1.1 million euros on the property.
Start of construction in 2024
The new waste collection center is being built by the Linz-Land District Waste Management Association. “The planning phase is now starting there, after there have already been preliminary plans for the property,” said Partoll in the OÖN interview. He assumes that if not this year, then by 2024 at the latest, work can begin on the new property, which now belongs to the city. Assuming that the construction period will not last longer than a year, the mayor of Ansfelden hopes that the new waste collection center will open in 2025.
The old waste collection center opened 32 years ago on Traunuferstraße, which is far too small and no longer meets the requirements of the time, will be the point of contact for disposal until the new building is completed. After that, the area should be used as an expansion area for the state road maintenance department, said Partoll. The property on Traunuferstraße belongs to the state.
