Russian War of Aggression: Kiev: More than 200,000 Russian soldiers killed

Ukraine speaks of more than 200,000 Russian soldiers killed, Moscow’s own figures are far lower. How high the numbers really are is unclear. The losses on both sides are enormous.

According to information from Kiev, Russia has lost more than 200,000 soldiers in its war of aggression against Ukraine. In the past 24 hours, 610 enemy soldiers have been killed, bringing the total number of Russian casualties to 200,590 soldiers, Ukraine’s General Staff said in its morning situation report. The information cannot be verified independently. The Russian military last put their own deaths at almost 6,000 soldiers in September.

According to military experts, both sides make inflated statements about the soldiers killed on the other side, while hiding their own. In fact, after almost 15 months of war, the losses on both sides are enormous. Together with the independent Internet portal Mediazona, the BBC has already recorded the names of 22,600 Russian soldiers killed in action. The number of actual war deaths is likely to be significantly higher.
