Andreas Obst and Johannes Thiemann posted a photo together on Instagram shortly after landing. “We are back,” wrote the two national players. From the airport, the German basketball players go directly to a reception at the headquarters of the main sponsor, the ING Bank.
Germany sensationally won the World Cup title for the first time in Manila on Sunday. In the final, the German Basketball Association team prevailed against Serbia 83:77. It was the greatest success in German basketball history.
