Violence protection center registers significantly more entry bans

Security police case conferences have proven to be a good tool for high-risk cases. These offer a “Platform for all people involved to exchange information and take a closer look”said Schuh. As a result, victim protection organizations, the counseling center for violence prevention, the police and authorities would receive the same level of knowledge. Last year there were 31 such conferences in Upper Austria because of high-risk cases of severe domestic violence or in the immediate social environment.

Last year, the Violence Protection Center looked after eight victims in criminal proceedings for attempted murder in the family environment. Half of them were women. Schuh was unable to provide any information about the sex of the suspects.
