According to his information, a special Qualcomm chip should enable the iPhone to connect to so-called LEO satellites, which orbit the earth in particularly deep areas of the orbit. This would make it possible to start phone calls or an Internet connection even if cell phone networks are not available in the respective location.
Classic calls without a provider are also not possible with this method: The satellite operators generally require a contract to use them, but according to Kuo many work with traditional mobile network operators and customers could possibly use them at no extra charge. Evolution instead of revolution

An iPhone without connections?
Some observers expect a rather radical step: For the first time, Apple could do without connections entirely and even delete the Lightning port on the underside, they believe.
