iPhone 13, Mini, Pro and Pro Max: When will prices go down – and how much can be saved

iPhone 13, Mini, Pro and Pro Max: When will prices go down – and how much can be saved

The new iPhones will be in stores from September 24th – at partly juicy prices. Here you can find out when prices can be expected to fall and how big the savings are likely to be.

With the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, Apple has launched four new iPhones. And although the prices have not changed compared to the previous year’s models, they have set a new price record: The iPhone 13 Pro Max with 1 terabyte of storage is the most expensive iPhone of all time with a list price of 1829 euros. But prices should soon go down significantly.

This is shown by a recent study by Idealo. Based on the previous models, the comparison platform dared to forecast the price development for the new iPhones. Experience shows that prices hardly change in the first three months and only then begin to decline slowly. There are differences between the models, but the tendency can be clearly seen. But how much can you actually save per model?

iPhone 13: That’s how much prices are falling

There is the basic model, simply called the iPhone 13. Apple’s list price is 899 euros for the smallest memory configuration with 128 GB. If you look at the development of the two previous models, this price should remain fairly stable in the first three months. And then slowly begin to sink. According to Idealo, savings of almost 100 euros should be possible after four to five months. That is a little more than ten percent.

iPhone 13 Pro: It’s worth the wait

The situation is very similar for the iPhone Pro, which is listed from 1149 euros. Only from the fourth month onwards there are almost ten percent savings. If you wait six months, you can save a good 160 euros, i.e. 14 percent. Almost even more important: the price will then be below the important psychological mark of 1000 euros for the first time.

iPhone 13 Pro Max: Overall, the greatest savings

The most expensive model, the iPhone 13 Pro Max, with a price starting at 1249 euros, allows the greatest savings in euros. Here, too, the price drops after just under four months, then you can save 130 euros. After six months you can even get 190 euros. Because of the high base price, the savings calculated as a percentage are not greater than with the other models. The iPhone 13 Pro Max should not crack the important 1000 euro mark until after eleven months – shortly before Apple shows the successor.

iPhone 13 Mini: Difficult forecast

The biggest savings were made with the mini model last year: it fell by a full 15 percent in the first four months. Whether that will happen again is another matter: In contrast to the other models, forecasting is much more difficult. There are two reasons. For one thing, there is only one predecessor, so the data situation is poor. On the other hand, Apple had probably misjudged the iPhone 12 Mini: According to media reports, Apple had actually expected a significantly stronger demand and ordered too many devices. The dealers’ warehouses remained full, they lowered prices in order to get rid of the devices. That should hardly be the case this year: Apple is said to have adjusted the iPhone 13 Mini accordingly and ordered fewer devices. The prices could therefore fall less quickly than in the previous year.
