Steve Buscemi dresses up as his Fellow Kids meme for Halloween

For years a meme that shows Hollywood star Steve Buscemi disguised as a teenager in a scene from the comedy series “30 Rock” has been roaming the Internet. Now he was kidding himself about it.

“How do you do, fellow kids?” Asks the man with the upside down baseball cap, the skateboard slung over his shoulder and the T-shirt that says “Music Band” – “How are you, you other kids? ” This is a meme, an image that is often shared on the Internet and comes from the series “30 Rock”. In the corresponding episode, Steve Buscemi plays a detective who is supposed to investigate undercover at a high school.

The clichéd disguise and the ingratiating greetings soon became the epitome of the unsuccessful attempt to sell themselves as part of the younger generation – especially brands that try to ingratiate themselves with the young target group with appropriate campaigns like to use the “Fellow Kids” -Meme mindful. But politicians who suddenly remember the existence of young people during the election campaign were also given a blow.

Steve Buscemi poked himself at himself

As an unconvincing teenager, Steve Buscemi became one of the best-known and most popular memes on the internet, you could say. Now, almost ten years after the legendary screenshot was taken, the Hollywood star picked up the picture again – and turned it into a Halloween costume. The 63-year-old was seen (and photographed) by fans handing out candy to kids outside his New York home wearing the iconic outfit. The musician Elvis Costello, who helped distribute the sweets, was apparently also a guest at Buscemi’s private Halloween party.

The actor delighted the neighborhood kids with sweets – but probably the adults even more with his costume. Numerous people shared photos with Buscemi on social networks and seemed completely over the moon. “The man is a national shrine!”, One user tweeted enthusiastically, another wrote: “This one short, thrown-away scene left an impression on American pop culture that nobody really could have expected.”
