In Russia, a program will be developed to support scientific activities. This was announced on December 8 by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a conversation with young scientists.
“In the coming years, maybe 10 years ahead, we will try to develop a program that would help maintain interest in scientific activities,” the head of state said.
According to the president, the momentum for research needs to be maintained.
In addition, a joint meeting of the State Council and the Presidential Science Council will take place in the near future.
“By the way, this meeting today for me is also of practical importance, because very soon we are to have a joint meeting of the Council on Science under the President and the State Council,” the Russian leader said.
The participants will discuss the tasks of developing the scientific sphere, he stressed.
In November, at a meeting on the development of genetic technologies, Putin said that all scientific projects in Russia should primarily be aimed at improving the well-being of people. Thus, attention is paid to the development of genetic technologies. In 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the corresponding federal scientific and technical program until 2027. In general, it is aimed at improving gene editing technologies that can be applied in medicine, agriculture and industry.
