Vladimir Kirienko became the head of VK

Vice-President of Rostelecom Vladimir Kiriyenko headed VK. This is stated in the message of the company, published on Monday, December 13.

Kiriyenko replaced Boris Dobrodeev in this post.

“We are glad to welcome Vladimir to our team. Together we will continue to improve the level of technology, innovation and user experience, “- said in VK.

Kiriyenko took the post of vice president of the president at Rostelecom in 2016. During this time, he has demonstrated high results, involvement and expertise in IT. Today, 50% of Rostelecom’s profits are generated by digital projects, and their share is growing. So, in 2016, the company’s revenue amounted to 300 billion rubles, and by the end of 2020, it exceeded 545 billion. During his work at the company, Kiriyenko strengthened the staff with leading specialists in the field of development, design, big data analytics, and cybersecurity.

It is expected that in the new place Kiriyenko, being a specialist in the progressive development of digital services, will be able to actively implement innovative approaches.

In early December, it was reported that USM holding sold its 57.3% of voting shares of VK (formerly Mail.ru Group) to SOGAZ Group. As the founder of USM Alisher Usmanov noted, shareholding in VK largely determined the development and became an important part of the holding’s history.

On December 3, it became known that 45% in the company that controls the majority of votes in VK will receive Gazprom-Media. Thus, the media holding will share control over the company with SOGAZ.
