A number of websites were down late on Thursday afternoon – in addition to shopping destinations like Zalando, there are also media like that stern and RTL.de as well as the Playstation Store affected.
Since shortly before 6 p.m. stern.de has only been partially available – although the articles can still be clicked on, the images are no longer displayed. Apparently, many other sites also have difficulties: Media offers such as RTL.de and Bild-Online cannot be accessed, any more than Zalando and the Playstation Store.
The failures seem to be international. According to the British Independent, airlines such as Delta Airlines are also affected, as are streaming services such as Netflix and HBO and a “number of banks”. Apparently the problems lie with the companies that host the websites, i.e. technically sell them.
