Doctors have named a symptom of diabetes visible on the skin

Diabetes mellitus negatively affects all organs, including the skin. This was told by specialists from the American Academy of Dermatology.

They clarified that diabetes can manifest itself in the form of skin rashes: patients may have small red bumps that resemble acne in appearance. Over time, they transform into oval patches of yellow, red, or even brown color, after which they can harden or swell. Moreover, such marks are most often noticeable in the lower leg area.

According to dermatologist Reagan Anderson, the mere fact of having such an ailment does not guarantee that the patient is diagnosed with diabetes. The doctor recommended to immediately contact a specialist in the event of such spots, reports “Medic Forum” on January 12.

Earlier, on December 16, 2021, nutritionist, candidate of biological sciences Alexander Miroshnikov said that eating cod and rabbit meat, as well as oatmeal and Brazil nut, can help prevent the development of diabetes. He also drew attention to the fact that there is a delicacy that can be eaten without fear of diabetes. It was about white marshmallows.

On October 28, it was reported that people with type 2 diabetes need to consume as little as possible simple and fast carbohydrates, which are found in flour products, potatoes and rice. At the same time, complex carbohydrates, such as wholemeal bread, buckwheat, oatmeal, should not be excluded from the diet.
