The Downdetector service, which analyzes the work of popular Internet resources, reported a malfunction in Telegram. Users from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey and other countries faced problems. Information about this appeared on Monday on the official page of the service.
“As of 17.40 Moscow time, 180 complaints were recorded: 45% of users complain about problems with the application, 32% about problems connecting to the server, another 23% about problems sending messages,” according to Downdetector.
In the morning, there were also problems when watching videos and launching the YouTube application. Similar complaints were received on Google services – users could not use the search engine and log in.
Most reports of problems came from Russia, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and the United States, according to the website of the service.
The Telegram messenger was created in 2013 by the founder of the VKontakte social network Pavel Durov. It allows you to exchange messages and media files of different formats. More than 500 million people use it every month.
At the end of 2021, Telegram became the fastest growing messenger in Russia. In terms of growth, it overtook WhatsApp and, according to experts, has every chance of becoming the most popular in Russia this year.
On December 27, users also reported a glitch in Telegram. 40% complained about problems with the application, 34% reported problems with sending messages.
