The American corporation Microsoft on January 18 announced the purchase of Activision Blizzard at a price of $95 per share. The entire deal is valued at $68.7 billion.

“It’s incredibly gratifying to announce that Microsoft is acquiring Activision Blizzard,” the post reads.

Until the deal is closed, Activision Blizzard and Microsoft Gaming will continue to operate independently. The deal is expected to close during fiscal year 2023.

Users will then be offered a host of Activision Blizzard games as part of their Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass subscriptions.

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick will remain at the head of the company and report to Microsoft’s head of gaming, Phil Spencer.

Activision Blizzard has created such game series as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Candy Crush, Tony Hawk, Diablo, Overwatch, Spyro, Hearthstone, Guitar Hero, Crash Bandicoot, StarCraft.

On October 29, it was reported that Microsoft overtook Apple to become the most valuable company in the world with a capitalization of $2.46 trillion.
