The Ministry of Digital Development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade are considering all opportunities to promote Russian microprocessors to the world market. This was reported to Izvestia on Tuesday, January 18, in the department.
“We plan to conduct a dialogue with all major global consumers of microprocessor technology and take into account their requirements,” the ministry said.
Earlier that day, the media, citing the minutes of the meeting of the Russian Ministry of Digital Transformation with foreign electronics manufacturers dated December 15, 2021, reported that the department had invited computer equipment manufacturers Lenovo, HP and Acer to prepare for the release of laptops with Russian processors. Sources close to the discussion of the initiative noted that we are talking about Baikal Electronics. However, this company told Izvestia that they have not yet commented on this topic.
Expert Nikita Korablinov said on January 18 that the Baikal processor manufactured by Baikal Electronics will gain experience in working with large manufacturers if this initiative of the Ministry of Digital Development is implemented.
