Instagram introduces subscription feature to monetize content

Social network Instagram, owned by Meta, introduces a paid subscription feature. This was announced on Wednesday, January 19, by the head of this social network, Adam Mosseri.

Feature testing is underway in the US for a small number of contributors. It is planned that in the coming months the test group will expand.

Paid subscription members will have access to exclusive broadcasts and Stories, which will be marked with a special badge. The author will also see a paid subscription icon next to their Instagram followers’ profile names.

Earlier in the day, a feature called “Avatars” became available to all users of the social network Instagram. After customizing the avatar, the user will be able to find it in the stickers section.

On December 9, 2021, it became known that Instagram intends to return to users the ability to view the news feed in chronological order. According to the head of administration of the service, Adam Mosseri, the social network plans to do this in the first quarter of 2022.
