The administration of the Telegram messenger has promptly removed at least three channels dedicated to discussing false reports about the mining of schools, Izvestia was told in the press service of Roskomnadzor.
Earlier, Izvestia sent links to three Telegram channels dedicated to fake mining to the department for consideration. Whether the channels were removed at the request of the ILV or not, the agency’s response will not specify.
However, the regulator noted that in 2021, more than 48,000 links to materials (or channels) in the Telegram messenger containing prohibited materials were entered into the Unified Register of Prohibited Information.
“More than 46,000 links have been removed from them, which is 96.5%. For failure to remove prohibited content within the period established by law under Art. 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, since the beginning of 2021, Telegram has been fined a total of 49 million rubles, ”added the press service of the RKN.
